Due to the coronavirus pandemic, it became clear in the fall of 2020, even before the first rehearsal weekend (November), that tutti rehearsals were not feasible. A marathon of rescheduling began: various kick-off dates were set and had to be canceled at short notice. During the winter months, the participants were “kept happy” by online workshops implemented at short notice. These focused more on music analysis, listening to music, composition processes, etc. A good 2/3 of the participants took part in these extra offers. At the same time, the project management/artistic directors kept communicating that they were looking for a solution to “save” the project after all.

In the end, we were able to hold two rehearsal weeks in July 2021 in a comparatively favourable epidemiological situation, and at the beginning of August the JJO played a mini-tour – as a special, a studio session was organized at short notice in the Gabriel recording studios in Sarnen (OW).
